The legislative efforts supported by the Teachers' Retirement Board during each session of the California Legislature are consistent with CalSTRS' goals to:

1. Raise the quality in delivery of benefits, products, and services;
2. Proactively develop benefits and products; and
3. Advance policies and practices that ensure a financially sound retirement system, while exploring opportunities for innovation.

Legislation

Each year there is proposed legislation that affects CalSTRS. Listings include the bill number, author(s), CalSTRS’ bill analyses, bill summary, the Board’s official position and the bill’s status in the Legislature. Also included is the text of the current and any prior versions of the bill and analyses of bills by the various legislative committees.
